The Women of Color Breast Cancer Survivors Support Project was established in December 1991 by the late P.J. Viviansayles, who was the President and Founder, to link African American survivors to one another and to resources and services. Beverly Rhine, who also succumbed to breast cancer, was first Vice President and co-founder. Our President, Carolyn Tapp, a certified Breast Self Exam (BSE) Facilitator, and our members take Each One Teach One Breast Health Education Seminars to women throughout the Los Angeles area. We are committed to training women on how to examine their breasts. They are encouraged to have a yearly mammogram and a yearly clinical examination by their medical doctors. We will take Each One Teach One seminars to churches, schools, beauty shops and any place that we're asked. You are invited to contact our office about scheduling this life saving workshop.
